Long overdue

I have been meaning to update my blog for the past 4 weeks, but it just hasn't seemed to make it to the top of my priority list. At least I have a good excuse. Actually, I have two good excuses...Their names are Emmy and Lucy :)
Emmy and Lucy were born on October 17, 2011. I was scheduled to go in for a c-section on the 18th but after a non-stress test showing I was in labor the day before we had to go straight to the hospital and they were delivered an hour later! Lucy weighed in at 5 lbs. 6 oz. and Emmy weighed 5 lbs. 10 oz. They are now 4 weeks old and doing great. We were so fortunate to bring them home and not spend any time in the NICU. Lots going on...except I'm still pregnant.

I'm trying to keep myself busy and not think about when I will actually have these babies. I am 35 weeks now, and let me tell you these baby girls have taken over my body! Maybe I will post a picture before I deliver.
Besides from trying not to count the days until these girls make their debut we have been busy. We are all back home now. Woo hoo! The boys are moved into a room together and have bunk beds and they love it. Jaxon started kindergartenHe loves it. I'm pretty sure the best part of his day is riding the bus. I never thought riding the bus could be so exciting. He is doing great in school, although he had to be separated already from a friend for talking too much.
Another blog worthy moment in Jaxons life is getting a booster seat.I post this only because I could have saved this for Christmas it was THAT exciting to him.

Crew started preschool at Miss Paulas and he usually loves it. Yesterday when he got dropped off his teacher said "good morning Crew." His reply, "I'm not talking to you." Nice. Good thing he is so cute.

Let me give you a rundown on my day today.
It started at 5 am (thanks Crew)

This is the sink that a nameless (see above) child made into his own personal hot tub and overflowed this morning.

This is the gum that the same child ripped into while in line at the store. That same gum ended up smeared all over his car seat and body while driving home.(yes i let him have piece...I've been up since 5) His gum privileges are gone.

This is a result of that same sweet, child trying to find just the right shirt to change into when we got home.

Not pictured: The knife he he grabbed out of the dishwasher because he thought it would be a cool sword. Luckily I was right there. It's not even 2 pm.
I feel like I'm taking care of one mess while he's creating another!
Please tell me you have days like this.

The Last Visitors of the Summer

We had our final round of visitors for the summer. First Sara and her boys came over for a few days while Doug came here for work. We packed a lot in those few days and sure had fun having them here! The pool, the beach, ice cream, legoland, and even squeezed a little shopping in with all five boys in tow.

Crew and Mikey are quite the duo. They are going to be best friends someday, they just don't know it yet! They kept Sara and I on our toes :)
Mikes parents came and we all headed to Legoland.

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Wilder for coming to visit! We love having you here.

Last but not least Jaxon and Crew started swim lessons last week, I love going to watch them and see how they improve each day.

One big Party

My kids have no sense of reality right now. This summer has been one continuous party for them so far. A few weeks ago the Littlefields came to visit us and we were able to go to the Yankess/Angels game and Seaworld. We had tons of fun and miss our good friends! Three days after they left my parents came to visit and we did another two days at Disneyland. The boys got spoiled by Grandma and Grandpa with a trip to Build a Bear and of course tons of love and attention. I love having my parents visit and I am always sad when they have to leave. A few days later was Mikes 30th Birthday and Fathers Day. Jaxon was a big help making the cake and helping make that day special for Mike. Here are some pictures of all the festivities!

I think the summer is going to have to start slowing down for me, I seriously felt crippled after the 2nd day at Disneyland. Took me days to recover.

Here are a few pictures of what we have been up to lately.
We took the boys to Newport Beach the other day and it was cold and windy. Despite that, Jaxon was determined to have a good time and would not leave! So we sat on the beach with sand blowing everywhere until Jaxon decided he had enough. We managed to have a good time anyway.
We've been spending lots of time at the pool and I am just getting bigger by the week. I haven't officially announced it on our blog, but I'm sure most of you know that we are expecting twins. I'm not sure it has even sunk in yet, but we find out the sexes in a few weeks!

Disneyland

Well, we made it to California for the summer and the highlight so far has definitely been Disneyland. My old roomie works at Disney World and came down for a few days to go to Disneyland with us and seriously HOOKED. US. UP. She even brought the boys Disneyland shirts to wear their first day, and pretty much was our personal photographer the whole time since I am horrible at taking pictures. Thank you again Raschell! The boys favorite rides were for sure the Buzz Lightyear and Toy Story rides.

They boys were pumped out of their minds just to be on the tram from the parking lot to the park.

Day Two:
Just as happy the second day..

Crew started not feeling well the second day, and was asleep in the stroller when we met Mater and McQueen. Jaxon looked completely star struck and couldn't believe he was meeting them.

Hawaii

Last month we were able to go on a trip with Mikes work to Hawaii. It was our first time to Hawaii and they treated us right. We all stayed at Turtle Bay on the north shore of Oahu and we even got convertible Mustangs to drive around that week. We went with 9 other couples and had a great time. I even met 3 celebrities! I wish I could say that meeting celebrities doesn't really excite me, but I'll be honest...I was pretty pumped to meet Courtney Cox and the guy who plays her ex on Cougar Town-one of my favorite shows.

A lot has happened in a month

We went on a cruise to the Bahamas with Mikes work. We had a lots of fun and stayed up way too late every night. I was not well rested after this vacation.
And Mike made fun of me for this next picture...but LOOK HOW BLUE THE WATER IS! I was impressed..
In front of the giant hotel Atlantis...we tried to sneak in and look around but didn't succeed.

My Crew baby turned 3! He had a great birthday, which for him means lots of food. We went to McDonalds for lunch a had a little get together with family and friends with cake and ice cream.

2 weeks later, Jaxon turned the big 5! That means kindergarten in the fall people! He had a pirate party with his friends and wore his pirate costume all day...he even sported it at Sams Club-where he reassured an old couple there that he wasn't in fact a real pirate, and that it was just a costume...phew! We did a treasure hunt around the house for his party. They found a treasure chest pinata buried in the basement. I learned that hitting a pinata is a BIG hit for 5 year olds.

Christmas 2010

I had intentions to do a post on George the Elf but things just got too busy and blogging was not high on the list of priorities. So we are moving on to Christmas and George the Elf will just have to wait for his introduction next year.
We had such a great Christmas. Here are a few of the highlights:

-My mom and dad came home from Australia after being there for 6 months.

-The Hawke family Christmas party.

-We rode the Polar Express in Heber, Utah (Jaxon was in HEAVEN!)

-My parents, Cory and Tara came and spent Christmas with us at our house.

-We ate a lot of good food.

-Crew was most excited about a pack of pink gum he got in his stocking on Christmas day...who knew?!

- We went and saw Temple Square lights with Mikes family and friends.

-Jaxon singing Christmas carols-he still has not stopped.

-My sister in law Lauri announced she is pregnant and we all couldn't be happier!

-My mom put the ham in the oven Christmas day only to find out later that the foil wrapped ham was in fact a ball of sugar cookie dough I WAS going to bake... it was worth the laugh!

The Hawke family Christmas party was a Polar Express party complete with Santa visiting and reading us the Polar Express, great food and a pinata for the kids. Oh, and Crew picked his nose almost the entire time he was on Santas lap...so proud to call him mine! :)

Temple Square-Jaxon and Taylor had their arms locked together the entire time and looked adorable. We attempted a family picture, it's kind of blury, but it's all we got.

The Polar Express-They served us hot chocolate, cookies, Santa and Mrs. Claus came and visited, the boys loved it!

Anyone that has been to our house lately will see that Christmas is in full swing around here. Mostly because that is all Jaxon can talk about, dream about, breathe, eat, etc. We are watching Christmas movies, reading Christmas books, listening to Christmas music, and counting down the days. Jaxon has asked me to help him make paper snowflakes like Elf the past three days. He has become very inquisitive about how Santa comes down the chimney and through the fireplace without breaking the glass. He also is very concerned that we don't turn on the fireplace because it could burn Santa's bag of toys.

Last weekend we headed downtown to see Santa. Not only did we see Santa, but we went on a Elf hunt. The kids had to find the Elf on a Shelf in different stores downtown and get a card punched. Once they found the elves they were able to redeem their card for a free toy at the toy store. We went on a horse drawn carriage ride and Santa came for the tree lighting ceremony and passed out elf hats to the kids. It was a lot of fun, even if it was FREEZING cold out.

I love this last picture of Crew. We stopped for some hot chocolate and he sat in this chair sipping his hot chocolate and stared out that window the entire time...just enjoying his thoughts I guess.

Halloween Festivities

I decided I was going to step it up this year for Halloween. So I had a dinner planned with all sorts of cute treats and decorations, we were going to go to Boo at the Zoo, and to the church carnival. And then it hit...THE FLU! Instead we have spent the last few days with both boys sick, so my plans of putting a little more into this holiday went out the window. We were able to at least go around the block and trick or treat. Jaxon sure played the part of a pirate saying...."Ahoy Matey! Arrrrr, give me a treat!" (so polite, right?) And Crew was the cutest dragon I have ever seen!

And some other pictures from the pumpkin patch and Mike and Jaxon carving them, or "starving them" as Jaxon would say.

Last weekend we headed out to do some fishing with the boys. We didn't have much luck catching any fish, but the boys had so much fun getting dirty, eating McDonalds breakfast and throwing rocks in the water, who needs fish right? We went with our friends the Littlefields and Jason caught a few, so Jaxon was able to hold one...poor fish almost didn't survive Jaxon trying to throw him back in the water!

First day of preschool and a few more

Jaxon started preschool today. He was so excited this morning. He got right up, got dressed, brushed his teeth, got his shoes and backpack on...and was ready high tail it out of here. Here is the handsome little man.

After preschool we headed over to a friends house to play. He had this little four wheeler which the boys didn't even think twice about trying. Jaxon jumped on, pressed the pedal down all the way, and went hauling down their driveway right into the street as I am running after him yelling at him to stop. Crazy boys! Crew loved it too.

This past weekend we were able to spend some time with Nic and Steff and their three girls. We took the kids to Bear World and it was a hit! Jaxon called Camryn and Brooklyn his girlfriends. He had so much fun with them.

I need something to take it down a notch...doesn't this drink look pretty?! Just kidding mom-don't panic! Why you ask am I feeling like this? Maybe it was the flooded bathroom that just happened-I should have taken pictures but I guess that wasn't my first thought when Jaxon decided to flush a half a roll of toilet paper down the toilet and its overflowing. It's leaking into my basement it was that bad. Or maybe its because my 2 year old looks like he got attacked by a cat...but really, it was his older brother. I think I'll stick to the cat story. Its less embarrassing. I almost posted a picture...but just take my word. I really feel like I could write a book about the last six months of my life, because this is just the icing on the cake. And it's finally starting to get funny.
I need a vacation.

A Miracle

Jaxon just finished two weeks of swimming lessons. Before he started he was comfortable in the water but did not like to go under, couldn't swim on his own and would not jump in. By the last day of swim lessons he is now swimming a little on his own, he is running and jumping into the pool and we can barely keep his head above the water! He absolutely loves it. It is the best feeling to watch him and see him be so proud of himself! Video to come.

Family Reunion

After our visit in Oregon and Washington the boys and I flew down to Utah with my parents for a family reunion. The reunion was in Southern Utah at a ranch in the middle of nowhere (seriously...30 miles on a dirt road after you are already in the middle of nowhere.) I have mixed feelings about this trip...lets start with the not so good...rattlesnakes-we killed three while we were there! We started off with hot water. But after the carbon monoxide detector went off twice in our cabin, and some overwhelming propane smells we opted to NOT to die in our sleep and have cold showers... so we turned off the propane to our cabin. On the bright side, my boys had the absolute time of their life there. There were horseback rides, four wheeler rides,fishing, goats, dogs, cats, chickens, campfires, a playground, a slip n slide and plenty of dirt to play in. I think my kids need to live on a farm.

On our way to the ranch-this is the gas station that Crew had the craziest melt down at. I could NOT get him back in his car seat. There was a car full of people right next to ours just watching me struggle to get him in while he is screaming his head off. One of the guys turned to me and said "ah the sacred work of a mother..." mmmmhmmmmm. Just what I was thinking pal!

For Christmas last year my mom gave me a girls trip to go see Wicked, so after the family reunion in Utah my mom and I were able to get away for the weekend by ourselves and go see Wicked. It was amazing! I had so much fun, thanks mom!

Drove from Oregon to Seattle.
Flew from Seattle to Salt Lake.
Flew from Salt Lake to St. Louis and back.
And FINALLY flew from Salt Lake back to Dallas.

Seattle so far...

We have been in Seattle visiting Grandma and Grandpa Hawke the past week and a half and have been so busy but have had so much fun! Jaxon has already told me he just wants to stay here. He doesn't want to go back to Dallas. There's lots of pictures, so here we go:

We went hiking up to a place called Twin Falls. Jaxon was a champ and walked almost the whole way. Grandpa was an even bigger champ and carried Crew in the backpack, while sometimes holding Jaxon...they cannot get enough of their grandpa!

Since we have been in Seattle our good friends Meegan and Keaton came to visit. Jaxon was beyond excited to have Keaton to pal around with. I'm pretty sure we packed in as much as we possibly could while they were here. By the end of their trip I think we all felt like we could sleep for three days straight...and I'm sure Meegan and I would have, but why is it that no matter how tired kids are they still get up at 6:30?

A good friend of ours is a fire chief and brought over his truck with lights and intercom and let the boys try on his gear.

Our first day we headed to the Pacfic Science Center and IMAX theater downtown. The boys had tons of fun despite what seemed to be field trip day for all the surrounding schools in the Seattle area. Crew sat out on this trip, he was able to spend some quality time with Grandma at home.

Waiting in line for the space simulater-I was sure that Jaxon was having a panic attack inside and there was nothing I could do. But to my surprise they were all smiles when the ride opened up!

After the Science Center we took the monorail and headed over to another part of town to get some lunch. Jaxon LOVED riding the monorail and still talks about how "so super fast" it is

Day two was the Point Defiance Zoo.

These animals were the favorites for my boys...Dory, Nemo, and the walrus that kept swimming right up to the window where we were standing.

Although Crew really is more concerned about what snacks we have to accompany his trip to the zoo.

Meegan and I were able to go downtown one day by ourselves and do some shopping and wander around Pikes Market. I love downtown!

A few more things we were able to do:

Smores in the backyard. My dad was offering free lessons to anyone on how to cook a perfect marshmallow. Keaton humored him.

We headed downtown to see the Fremont troll under the bridge. The boys loved it. We couldn't really get very good pictures because there was also some people putting on a free performance of scenes from Shakespeare under the bridge. I mean why wouldn't you act out Shakespeare under a bridge in front of a Troll???...gotta love Seattle!
We ended Keaton and Meegans trip to Seattle with a trip to Dicks Drive In...mmmmm.

Oregon

We all went to Oregon last week for Travis and Aly's wedding. They made such a beautiful couple and it was fun to have the entire Wilder family together! Congrats Aly and Travis...Here are some of the wedding pictures taken by Paul Cleaver (Nicoles dad) He did a great job! I had to throw in the one of Crew enjoying the food..of course!

The boys and I were able to stay for awhile after the wedding and spend time with Grandma and Grandpa Wilder. The highlight of the trip was going to McMinnville to the air and space museum.
They had a interactive area that the boys loved with games and airplanes they could sit in.

Jaxon concentrating really hard to impress the ladies with his cordination at one of the games games...I tihnk she was impressed.
They even had a airplane ride that I'm pretty sure the boys would have stayed on all day.

Barnes and Noble for story time...although Crew is a little more into reading by himself. Jaxon sat in the stroller the whole time and listened.

They also had their first celebrity sighting at Barnes and Noble...Clifford the Big Red Dog! Crew couldn't get enough hugs in...

Lots of pool time...which means lots of sand. This is how Crew enjoys it...

Texas and Stuff

Well, we finally made it to Texas and have been here a week. It is such a nice area and we are definitely enjoying the warmer weather and pools at our apartments. They have a kiddie pool that has a sandy beach for the kids to play in, so I am sure we will be spending a lot of time there. We have had quite the eventful month this past month. We visited Utah for a few days on our drive to Texas and stopped in Albuquerque for a few days to visit my grandparents. We also visited the ER a couple times too! Jaxon first somehow got the hook of a hanger stuck in his eye while my mom and I were shopping. It was terrifying, but his eye is ok...no pictures of that injury. Three days later in Utah he fell in my brothers garage and hit his head on the corner of some scrap wood, so we ended up in the ER with a few stitches on that one. Other than that we enjoyed making our way to Texas. We were able to go to Wheeler Farms and the Aquarium in Utah. Here are a few of the latest pics.

I'm pretty sure the very few readers I did have, have given up on my blog. But, here I go anyways...These last few months have been busy and full of change for us. Lets start off with January....Crew turned 2, and he is busy as ever! He is into everything! I am CONSTANTLY finding him with lotion, shampoo, hair gel, toothpaste etc. smeared all over his body. We tested out finger paints with the two of them and it soon turned into body paint (pictures below). It's a good thing Crew has the looks and personality, he is just too cute to get too mad at! February....Jaxon turned 4. He is preschool and loving it. He gave his first talk in church a few weeks ago and did great. When Mike told him to say "our prophet today is Thomas S. Monson" it came out "our prophet today is Thomas S. Monster" I thought MIke would never recover to help him finish the talk. I am trying not to be too long winded but there has also been some changes in the Wilder home. Mike has the opportunity to be a owner in a pest control company and quit his job...crazy, I know. But I am finally feeling good about things and looking forward to this adventure. Well, that about all for now...here are some pictures of recent happenings in our house.

Christmas in a nutshell

I have tons of pictures to post so I won't bore you with too many details, but here is a little recap of our Christmas break:

I FINALLY got a camera before we left for Christmas
We went to Utah for Christmas
We took Jaxon sledding and he couldn't get enough of it and shocked us all-he was quite the dare devil, going down backwards, laying down...it was fun.
Santa came to Grandmas house on Christmas Eve and Jaxon was in absolute shock, he didn't move or speak for a few minutes...just stared.
We had a great Christmas with all of our families, saw some movies, played games and ate lots of good food.

I had a great meal planned for today. Some cranberry glazed pork chops, cheesy potatoes, and fresh green beans. To my disappointment, the pork got overcooked and turned out dry and the potatoes got undercooked and were a little crisp. My kids ended up eating dino nuggets cause the meat was so tough. But guess what? They still think I'm pretty cool, in fact they probably enjoyed the dino nuggets more than if the meal had turned out. Cranberry glazed pork...not my thing. But I can make some pretty sweet Dino Nuggets!

Halloween and stuff

I am horrible at keeping this current. Most people have probably given up on my blog, except grandparents. :) But here are some pictures of Halloween and a few random ones of the boys hanging out in their tent watching a movie and eating snacks-there will probably be a lot of that this winter. Jaxon was Buzz Lightyear for Halloween and the costume was hilarious, he was in love with it. Crew was a cute little tiger, although he was not too fond of wearing it.

Catching Up

I've been on a bit of a blogging break, so I'm back to catch you all up on what we've been up to these past weeks. We left a few weeks ago to Oregon and Washington to visit Mike's parents and my parents. We first went to Oregon and we all ended up getting sick. Both boys had ear infections and fevers and I ended up with a sinus infection. Mike's parents were such troopers to put up with us all being sick! We still had a good time and managed to do a lot of fun things. We went to a little theme park called Enchanted Forest that the kids loved and Jaxon went fishing with Mike and his dad. And I was able to hit up the Nordstrom sale :) We then went to Washington to visit my parents. Our trip was cut short because my cute little Grandpa in Utah passed away and we flew out for the funeral. But we were able to enjoy some fun stuff in Seattlein the time we were there. We went boating...both the boys got on the tube, we went to another theme/water park, the beach and Mike and I were able to go downtown Seattle all day BY OURSELVES! I will stop rambling since probably no one is reading anymore and just post picures.

Mike and I were able to spend a much needed day away downtown Seattle. We had so much fun shopping, walking around and enjoying the surroundings. We found this little hole in the wall place at Pikes Market to eat lunch that was known for their Rueben sandwiches-which I love, and especially known for their meatloaf sandwich that Mike braved and loved.

Also check out these amazing flowers we brought home to my mom from Pikes. Pikes has the most Gorgeous bouquets of flowers and guess how much?? $5!!!! If I lived there I would have these on my table pretty much at all times.

I love this picture of Jaxon at the airport. He could not wait to go on the airplane..waiting in line was pure torture for him. After our two hour plane ride he turned and said to me.."How about again mom?" He couldnt get enough

I know this post is getting really long but I had to post this last picture of my grandpa. He died July 25, 2009 and was 96 years old. It is so crazy to think how one person can affect so many lives. He has 8 kids, 28 grandkids, 79 great-grandkids and 7 great, great grandkids and will be greatly missed.

Jaxon has had an facination with things that move since as long as I can remember...trucks, tractors, trains, planes. He LOVES them. He just wants to make sure that we all have the same appreciation for them as he does!

Went to Vegas last weekend with some good friends and had such a good time. After reviewing their recap of the weekend I don't even want to try and give you the run down of our trip. It's Been Awhile..

Haven't posted for awhile. I'm awful at taking pictures, and I'm sure the two people that are even remotely interested in our blog have moved on. But I will amuse myself and post something just to make myself feel better that someone is interested. What has been going on? A few weeks ago I went on a girls trip with my mom, grandma, aunt and three cousins to Seattle...with no kids. It was glorious! We had so much fun, we spent 8 hours downtown the first day just walking around, shopping, eating ice cream, listening to people on the street sing and play instruments. I LOVE pretty much everything about Seattle, and I realize how homesick I am when I go home. I will try and get some pictures posted of that trip. Other than that... since I have been home we have been hard at work on our yard. Who would have thought cement curbing could make me giddy?! And last but definitely not least, American Idol. This is who has my vote...although sometimes the way he moves his mouth when he sings bugs me, I'm still a fan.

P.S. Highlight of the week so far-I think Jaxon has finally agreed that potty training might not be such a bad idea. I know, he's 3...please don't judge!

Fun Weekend

We have had such a great weekend so far. Last night Mike and I celebrated our 5th anniversary (a week early) cause I will be in Seattle on our real anniversary...OOPS! So I surprised him with a night at Destinations in and we had so much fun. We went out to dinner to one of our favorite little places, the food was great, the hotel was great. No pics from our anniversary..of course not. WHY would I want to take any pictures? I really need to get better at that. But I did manage to remember to take my camera to the park. I love this picture

That is how many miles I ran the first weekend in April. I did my first half marathon in Provo, in the snow and wind. I wasn't too sure about how much fun I was going to have and the weather definitely didn't add to my excitement. But to my surprise I actually had a lot of fun. I ran with Mikes sisters Jessica and Lauri, his cousins Kristi and Ashlely and our sister in law Nicole. So here are some pictures.
P.S. Yes those are tu tu's we are wearing and yes we did wear them the entire race. My goal was to get under 2:30 and I came in at 2:24!

Big Boy Stuff

Jaxon started preschool just once a week and today was his first day. He was all pumped up for his first day...he had his Lightening McQueen backpack on..he was ready...

unfortunately his tuned changed when he realized big boys don't take their moms to preschool. It was a rough first day.

Had to add a few of this little guy..should I be concerned about the amount of drool this guy produces? I don't think he's had a dry shirt in his life!

We had Jaxon and Crews birthday party Friday night. I can't believe Jaxon is three and Crew is one! Of course it was a truck theme. (I cannot take credit for the decoration ideas, I copied my friends sisters blog...shhh. But I will take credit for the cute birthday boys!) Jaxon and Crew LOVE their wagon. They have been sitting in it ever since, thanks Grandmas and Grandpas! Mike also surprised Jaxon and me with some fish. There are a TON of pictures but Meegan did such a great job on them i don't want to leave much out. Thanks again Meegan! Here they are kind of in backwards order.

Allergies...Boo

Just had to post a few pictures of the boys after they had to get blood drawn for some allergy testing...so sad. We know for sure that Crew is allergic to peanut butter after he broke out all red and blotchy and in hives after one bite so we thought we should get him tested to see if there are any others and how severe the peanut one is. Jaxon has also been breaking out in hives on his face after eating random things so we can't really tell what he may be allergic to. So we thought we would get him tested as well.

I really love being home with my boys but this week has just been a tiring week. I have to vent. Crew has been getting his front teeth which means he has not sleeping well at all. Jaxon colored with a pen all over our built in WHITE bench in our kitchen. A chunk has been taken out of my wall by some force of Jaxon. Every toy has been taken out and thrown around the living room. Finally I told Jaxon he could play a few more minutes and then it was time to go night night (it was 2 o'clock and i still had not showered, I needed a minute to myself) His reply in a very matter of fact way, "no mom, NOT going night night...NOT going night night." (he really emphasized the "not" just in case I didn't understand what he was saying) What?!!! You are not even three! Do you really want to start this?
Both my kids are in bed asleep now.
I win.

What we have been up to

I haven't posted in awhile so I thought it was time for an update, since I know you all were anxiously awaiting one :) Right after Christmas we headed down to Utah with my parents to hang out with cousins, aunts and uncles and my grandparents from New Mexico that we don't get to spend much time with. It was a lot of fun..but of course I didn't take pictures. Sine then Jaxon has been keeping himself busy with all his toys and has quite the imagination. I also took him to an open gym on Friday which he absolutely LOVED, I think we will be making that an every Friday activity. Its for two hours and the kids can run around, jump on trampolines, swing from the rings and on rope swings. There was also a huge pit full of big sponge/foam pieces that the could jump and play in. He was in heaven. I will post pictures next time we go. Crew is on the go and walking, he can wave and say hi and is such a happy camper. He is also getting his two top teeth in. So here are a few recent pics

Since it snowed a ton yesterday we decided that making gingerbread houses was a good activity. So some friends came over and we had a ton of fun. Mike and Jason were not into at first but once they started they got a little carried away with their creations, and my humble little gingerbread house was demoted as the "pool house" for their mansions.

Today I let Jaxon try painting for the first time. We did watercolor paints and acrylics. I was pleasantly surprised because he is not really a fan of coloring, but he could not get enough of the paints. I guess he just needs a blank canvas so his creativity can flow. Here are a few action shots.

One last picture..Mikes family was here this past weekend and I got ready one morning and walked out of my room and Cindy saw me and started to laugh. She took me out in the living room and there was Aly wearing the same thing...We buy a lot of the same clothes so it was bound to happen. Whenever we go shopping together we will go off and look by ourselves and then when we find eachother we will be holding many of the same clothing items.

Seven Quirks

I was tagged to post seven quirks about myself.

1. I hate feet. I will not touch and I HATE to be touched by anyones bare feet. It makes me cringe. They are disgusting. I think you get the point.

2. I love pretty much everything from the 80's. Ok well not everything, but i do love 80's music and movies. They are the best. My husband gets really annoyed with all my 80's mixes, he thinks they are terrible.

3. I constantly am re-arranging things in my house. It a little bit of an obsession. The thing is, most people would never know because most of the time, after I have moved things like fifty times I end up putting things back where they were to begin with cause thats where I like it best. But I do obsess about it until I am completely happy with how I have arranged them. I know...probably a complete waste of time, but what can you do?

4. I cannot handle loud eaters...smacking..chomping...it drives me nuts. I'm kind of the same way with little repetitive noises or movements...like when someone next to you moves their leg, or taps a pen...ok I am done. I think that was like five things in one.

5. I want dessert or a treat every night. I always need something sweet after I eat. I don't know if this qualifies as a quirk, but we are counting it.

6. I have been known to break out in really weird spastic dances. I have toned it down in my old age, but anyone that really knows me (my college roomates) can attest that this is true-Greta made me put this one.

7. I check that the doors are locked like fifty times before I go to bed. Its weird...I know they are locked but I always check again, just to make sure

Went to Jackson this past weekend. My brother was in a bike race called the Lotoja and rode over 200 miles in 10 hours! So we met him at the finish line along with my parents and my grandparents. Don't have a ton of pics (surprise surprise) but here are a few.

I realize I haven't posted in awhile. Not that we haven't been up to anything, I just am really bad at taking my camera places. I need to work on that. So, a little recap of the last few weeks...

~Grandma and Grandpa Wilder came for a visit and we had so much fun with them
~Aunt Aly came the next weekend..both visits were way too short
~Crew had his 6 month appointment, although now he is almost 7 months. But he weighed in at 15 pounds 14 ounces and 26 inches long.
~Crew has been crawling for almost a month now
~He is about the happiest baby out there and LOVES to follow Jaxon around, and Jaxon loves to play with him.
~ We had our first family picture taken. Check em out on Meegans photography blog. She does such a great job!

Utah again..

I went to Utah for a few days to stay with my friend Steff and her two girls while both of our husbands were out of town. We had a lot of fun and were able to visit Discovery at Gateway and go to the pool. Here are a few pics! Thanks again for letting us come Steff!

Right now he does, I make his sleep closest to the door wherever we are...for some reason I feel safer that way!

Mike for the most part, but if there is something I really want to watch or really DONT want to watch (ahem...UFC) he will usually let me change it.

I don't like this question either..I'll go with Mike though

I do for the most part, I'm weird for some reason I kind of like doing laundry!

Mike mostly does. I cook, he cleans up, thats our system. Dishes are something I hate!

Now this is a hard one. I think if Mike were here right now he would say me, but I will say we are equal.

Mike is probably a little better at this than I am.

I think it is pretty equal, although we don't live by either of them, we are lucky that we do get to see them quite a bit. (Advantage of having the only grandchildren on both sides!)

I think we are about equal on that too!

Mike does..he has 3 sisters and one brother

Ah, the joys of having children..

Let me just preface this by saying that this post may contain some graphic details and if you don't appreciate "potty" humor you may want to stop reading now. So lets just start by saying that I started feeding Crew rice cereal about a week ago and he LOVED it. A problem though...he had some issues with the whole digestive process. It had been about 5 days and he had not pooped. So today I was running some errands and had just arrived at Bed Bath and Beyond and I smell an interesting smell that seemed to be following me. What could it be? Oh yes, you guessed it... I lifted Crews blanket up and what did my eyes behold? A car seat FULL of POOP! This was no ordinary blowout. This was an EXPLOSION of poop! Not the easy clean up kind, the nasty mustard paste. Crew was covered, his car seat was full. It was awful. I was not close to home so I went into the bathroom to try and get a handle on this, and it just went downhill from there. Lets just say Crew ended up naked in the sink at Bed Bath and Beyond. The best part was when a girl walked in to go to the bathroom and I am there with my two kids, poop everywhere, a naked baby, and half the roll of paper towels spread all over the bathroom. Needless to say, she decided she didn't need to use the bathroom that bad. It was awesome. Its a good thing he's so cute!

Girls Weekend

A few of my really good friends from college came up this past weekend to visit and we had so much fun. We were able to meet up with a few other of our roomies from college and have lunch with them. We met Mikes parents in Salt Lake and drove down to St, George this past weekend to visit grandparents. We had so much fun not to mention the great weather we had while we were there. Here are a few pics to sum up our visit..We went four wheeling

Quick Getaway

We went to Jackson the other day and stayed the night. Mike had to go there for work, so we just went with him and stayed the night. It was a short trip, but we had fun just hanging out in the hotel and going to the rec center in Jackson since the weather wasn't all that great. Jaxon had a great time swimming!

Crew has felt left out of the blogging scene lately. Here are a few new pictures of him. Update: At his 2 month checkup he weighed 11 lbs. 12 oz. He is almost 3 months now and was weighed yesterday, he weighed 13 lbs. 6 oz. He's our big smiley baby! They are not the best pictures, they turned out kind of dark..oh well!

Ryan and Nicole left this morning for Washington DC for the whole summer to go sell pest control. Jaxon loves hanging out with Ryan and Nicole and is going to miss them so much (of course Mike and I will too.) They have been such a good Aunt and Uncle they always bring Jaxon treats and will come pick him up to take him places. We are all going to miss that this summer. Good luck in DC you guys! Keep posting pictures on your blog so Jaxon can look at them!

What's been going on

Well it seems like it's been quite eventful the past week for us. We FINALLY moved into our new house and lovin' it. I will post pictures soon. We moved in a day before Easter so I felt like I wasn't able to really prepare much for Easter, but I was able to get a few pics of Jaxon going through his Easter basket. He liked finding a few eggs hidden at the new house. Then both sides of the family came in this weekend for Crews blessing. So there are a some pictures of that. We loved having everyone here and wish it could have been a longer weekend.

I just have to write really quick and tell you Jaxons latest thing. This is probably more for grandparents and family, but hey maybe others will find this funny. As you know Jaxon LOVES the movie Cars. Well his latest obsession is watching the music video to Life Is A Highway by Rascal Flatts because that song is in the movie Cars. So now he goes around the house singing..."Life is a highway....all night long...a highway!" So funny! If I sing the lines "Life is a highway" He responds-"all night long!" He cracks me up!

Ok I liked this tag. I've been tagged to write Eight things about Jaxon and Crew. I need to save these for my own memory.
Jaxon

1. His favorite foods are chicken nuggets and fruit snacks, in fact he asked for chicken this morning for breakfast. He was very upset to see cereal and yogurt put in front of him. Whats wrong with chicken nuggets in the morning?
2. His favorite movie of all time is still Cars, I think he can quote all the lines in it before they come.
3. Some of his favorite pastimes..flushing the toilet, finding anything with a button on it and pushing it, opening and shutting doors...over and over....
4. He would much prefer being outside any time, even if it means being in the snow, rain, or -20 degree weather...why do we live here?
5. He is two years old and still doesn't even weigh 25 pounds...oh ya, he's in the first percentile for weight. Maybe I should be feeding him chicken nuggets for breakfast.
6. He loves to dance, but is very embarassed if we watch him.
7. He can spot a tractor, train, or truck from a mile away. Cars, trucks, trains, tractors, anything with wheels are his obsession.
8.He loves being in PJ's He is always asking for "jammies" and when I get him dressed in the morning he asks..."Is that jammies?"

Crew

1. Crew is going to be much bigger than Jaxon at the rate he is growing (not hard I know) But he has such adorable little rolls on his thighs. He is only 7 weeks and in 3-6 month clothes
2. His newest trick- SMILING...YaY!
3. He still has blue eyes, but we will see what happens. How do two people with brown eyes have only blue eyed kids?
4. He is addicted to the binky. It is quite a problem when he cant keep it in his mouth...ALL night.
5. He is always grunting...he sounds like a little lamb.
6. He is now sleeping 6 hrs at night...WOOT WOOT!
7. I think his hair is thinning out....
8. He still loves to be swaddled really tight.

Is winter over YET?

Yesterday Jaxon was able to go outside with his boots and stomp around in some puddles. I hope this melting snow means winter is coming to an end, and warmer weather is on its way. Winters are rough with little kids, especially with a VERY active 2 year old (we wont name names though). Jaxon was so excited to put his boots on and go outside. He was cheesin it for the camera. Hey I am just happy I could get him to hold still and and even look at me while I took a picture. He loves his boots!

Crew 5 Weeks

Here are some updated pictures of Crew. He is now 5 weeks and getting so big. He wore an outfit that was 3-6 months today. Who knows maybe he will defy the odds and grow to be taller than 5'9"!! HA! Sorry about the binky in most pictures...he is addicted.

Crew Michael Wilder arrived Saturday January 19th at 8pm weighing in at 7 lbs. 2 ounces and 19 inches long. I can't believe the amount of hair he had! I was induced, but it didn't take much to put me into labor because I was already dialated to a 5 and 90 percent effaced when I went in. It was a much better delivery than the last. Anyways, we are so glad he is here and just wanted to share a few pictures...

Well, since I have not had my baby yet, and the doctors keep telling me any day now, but still no baby I decided I would update on another exciting thing going on. Our house! I don't think I have posted any pictures of it yet. It is supposed to be done by the end of this month, but we will see. They are just about done with the outside. They just need to finish the rest of the siding and put the shutters on it and the outside is done! Well, just wanted to post a pic and hopefully my next entry will be about the new baby. I have been dialated to a 4 and about 80 percent effaced for over a week...come on already!

They all came out to Rexburg and had Christmas at our house since we are going to have a baby in about a month. Thanks for coming everyone!!

My Husband

Ok, I have been tagged to write 5 things you should know about my husband. Here it goes!
1. He does the dishes every night after dinner. I love it! He is very tidy and I rarely have to pick up after him.
2. He is a very involved father. He never hesitates to help out with Jaxon or give me time to myself. He is always willing to watch Jaxon and let me go out with the girls. I love that Jaxon and him are such good buds!
3. He wins at every game! It doesnt matter if it is a game of strategy or luck...he always wins! How does he do that?
4. I swear he is abnormally strong. He doesn't even have to work out. I once saw him put a couch on his back and walk up two flights of stairs with it.
5. He has some sweet dance moves that only I and his family have ever witnessed. I think many people would be surprised to see him bust out in spastic dance the way he does.

Caramel Recipe...

Ok, here is the recipe for the caramels that I said I was going to post...

1/2 c. butter melted
1/2 c. corn syrup
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. sweetened condensed milk

Mix all ingredients together in a microwave safe bowl and microwave for 6 1/2-7 minutes. (My microwave cooks fast so I do 6 1/2 minutes...its just trial and error) As soon as it is done pour into a 8x8 pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray. It will be REALLY hot and boiling, but you have to pour it right away. Cool for 10 minutes at room temp. Then put in the refrigerator for another 30-35 minutes. Cut into dice size squares and then roll into wax paper!
