Christmas

Just wanted to post some pictures from Christmas. Jaxon loved all the toys he got, especially anything related to cars. We had lots of fun with the Wilder side of the family. They all came out to Rexburg and had Christmas at our house since we are going to have a baby in about a month. Thanks for coming everyone!!

My Husband

Ok, I have been tagged to write 5 things you should know about my husband. Here it goes!
1. He does the dishes every night after dinner. I love it! He is very tidy and I rarely have to pick up after him.
2. He is a very involved father. He never hesitates to help out with Jaxon or give me time to myself. He is always willing to watch Jaxon and let me go out with the girls. I love that Jaxon and him are such good buds!
3. He wins at every game! It doesnt matter if it is a game of strategy or luck...he always wins! How does he do that?
4. I swear he is abnormally strong. He doesn't even have to work out. I once saw him put a couch on his back and walk up two flights of stairs with it.
5. He has some sweet dance moves that only I and his family have ever witnessed. I think many people would be surprised to see him bust out in spastic dance the way he does.

I now tag Steff, Sara, and Nicole to do this!

Caramel Recipe...

Ok, here is the recipe for the caramels that I said I was going to post...

1/2 c. butter melted
1/2 c. corn syrup
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. sweetened condensed milk

Mix all ingredients together in a microwave safe bowl and microwave for 6 1/2-7 minutes. (My microwave cooks fast so I do 6 1/2 minutes...its just trial and error) As soon as it is done pour into a 8x8 pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray. It will be REALLY hot and boiling, but you have to pour it right away. Cool for 10 minutes at room temp. Then put in the refrigerator for another 30-35 minutes. Cut into dice size squares and then roll into wax paper!

Girls Night...

I'm no Martha Stewart...but I can dip pretzels in chocolate. Last night some friends and I had a girls night and made some treats to give to neighbors and friends. We bought a bunch of different kinds of pretzels and white and milk chocolate and dipped pretzels ALL night. We made all sorts of concoctions (SP?) and sprinkled crushed up candy cane on them. They turned out really good and looked pretty cute. The best part was it was super easy! We also made some really good homemade caramels that my friend Melissa had a recipe for, and its all done in the microwave. I think I might post the recipe. Hope you don't care Melissa! Anyways, I was pretty proud of all this. Maybe cause I don't do it very often. So if any of you are looking for an easy holiday gift..here it is!

Puddles are the Best!

We haven't had much snow here yet, but the little snow we have had has created some great puddles for Jaxon to stomp in. He was in heaven!

Great Grandpas Hat

This weekend Jaxon was able to see his Great Grandma and Grandpa Hawke who are both 94 years old. Jaxon loved Grandpas hat and would not stop putting his hat on and taking it off. On and off....Thought these pictures were cute!

Dessert Anyone?

No these are not dark chocolate brownies. This is the dessert I forgot about under the broiler. I looked in the oven to find flames about a foot high...not kidding. Mike was not home and I freaked out. I thought I was going to burn down our kitchen. Not a good thing to happen when we are selling our townhome. Luckily the flames self extinguished after I turned the oven off and as I was opening the fire extinguisher!! OOOPS!

Cowboy Jaxon

Jaxon has recently taken a liking to his cowboy hat. This can only mean one thing....we have lived in Idaho for too long. Maybe we need to get him some matching boots. Too bad this isnt his Halloween costume!

MMMM CANDY!

Jaxon is getting ready for Halloween and practicing his candy eating skills. He sure has a sweet tooth. Hmmm I wonder where he gets that from? I can't wait to see his reaction when he figures out that knocking on peoples doors and saying "trick or treat" means candy. I think he'll catch on real fast.

6 Facts About Me...

Ok, Steff tagged me to write 6 things about myself. I am tagging Summer, Laura, Nikki, Karlee, Cassie and Melissa, I think those are the only people left on my list that havent done this. Anyways, here it goes:
1. Since Mike and I have been married we have lived in 5 different states, Georgia, Tennesse, Arizona, Washington and Idaho!
2. I love junk food! I know this isn't that interesting, but I really don't have much self control when it comes to this. Mike and I go to the gas station all the time to get candy, almost always because I want it.
3. I have developed a fear of flying. The more I fly, the more scared I get and its worse when I'm with Jaxon. I had one really scary flight and ever since then the fear has gotten worse. I hate it!
4. I actually like to cook and find new recipes. I like watching the food network.
5. I like going to DI and finding things that I can fix or clean up for my house. I'm not very successful that often but when I am, I love it!
6. For those of you who don't know we are having another boy and the name we have is from an 80's movie that I loved when I was little. HA!

Catching Up...

Here it is...my first official post on my new blog! Since I am having serious issues with my camera I have no really recent pictures, so I thought I would would just post some from this summer just to catch up. Hopefully in the meantime my camera issues will be resolved. Here are some pics from our trip to the Oregon Coast.
